British Eventing membership BENEFITS

GoBE

No Membership Needed and Unpublished Results makes British Eventing accessible for all!

British Eventing (BE) is introducing a new competition format that will give riders the opportunity to enjoy competing over BE courses.

From July 1st GO BE classes will enable riders to take part in a British Eventing affiliated competition, without the need of a BE membership and without a BE published record of the results. The classes will be run in accordance with all other BE competitions, just with the notable difference that they will be open to all riders from the year of their 12th Birthday, (non-members will need to complete a free Associate registration and horse registration via the website) and results will be unpublished.

This new format has been developed to reach out to the groups of competitors that wish to compete with BE but without their results being recorded in the BE database which will be especially attractive for those producing younger horses. It is also aimed to appeal to those who wish to try competing with BE for the first time but without the initial commitment of purchasing a membership. Classes are available from 80-100cm and will be known as GOBE80, GOBE90 and GOBE100.  MERs as per BE100 classes will be required for GOBE100 level.

This exciting initiative provides many of the benefits of competing under the Gold Standard with BE, including the safety provisions, medical and veterinary care and the quality of the ground, course design and trained officials.

There will be a £10 run fee payable to BE for non-members to compete in GO BE classes.

Go BE summarised:

  • Anyone can enter, no BE membership required*

  • Same courses and organising team as National BE classes

  • Results unpublished

  • Entry fees will be set at the lower limit

  • No prize money

  • Won’t count for MERs and Qualifications

Results will be available on Eventing Scores but not published on BE records.

* Non-members will need to complete a free Associate registration and horse registration via the website. Non-members will need to have their own third party insurance. They will also need to comply with BE's vaccination rules - horses must have a current vaccination against equine infuenza which complies with the conditions set out in members handbook  10.2.1.

Pay As You Go

Pay As You Go membership replaces the old day pass system and is designed to offer a level of flexibility for members. It is ideal for those trying eventing for the first time, those exploring stepping up to the next level and those who only want to compete a few times per year. PAYG enables you to qualify for Area Festivals and compete in Area Festival Championships, click here for the full list.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Pay As You Go option is available for Rider memberships, Horse Season tickets and Owner memberships.

You pay a one-off membership fee of £30 for each category you wish to PAYG. So, if you want you and your horse to compete on the PAYG system, it would be £30 for your membership and £30 for your horse to hold a PAYG Season Ticket.

Once you have a PAYG membership you will be able to go ahead and make your entries. For any entry where a PAYG membership is held – either by the rider, the horse, the owner, or a combination of the forementioned – you will be charged an additional £10 run fee on top of your entry. This applies every time you and/or your horse competes. There is no limit to the number of times you may compete using this membership option.

WHAT BENEFITS DO I GET?

PAYG members receive several of the benefits that all BE members enjoy, including discount on BE training and education, discounts on BE winter competitions and access to inspired rewards.

They also receive a digital copy of the Handbook and BE Life magazine, as well as Third Party Insurance for the days on which they compete at BE events.

Horse registration & Horse season tickets

EVERY HORSE THAT COMPETES WITH BRITISH EVENTING NEEDS TO BE REGISTERED

If your horse has ever been registered with British Eventing before (with you or a previous owner) you do not need to complete a horse registration.

HOW TO REGISTER A HORSE

If your horse has never been registered before, log in to your BE account and navigate to Horse Registration to complete the form and upload scans of your passport.

If your horse’s passport details are not uploaded via the online form, they must be sent into the office as soon as you complete an equine registration. The membership team will then verify your passport and you'll receive an email confirmation. You can either email a copy (info@britisheventing.com) or post a copy of the official name page (this must be the name recorded in the passport) stating the ID number and year foaled, the breeding page and the vet's diagram page. You have 28 days to do this before your horse is suspended and you will be unable to make any entries.

Foreign horses, including Irish, will need to send these details in straight away as they do not have the 28-day period. We also need a printout of the results from the country of origin if the horse is older than five years. You will not be able to make any entries until we have received this information. If you have an unnamed Irish passport, you need to send the passport back to Ireland in order to have the name inserted before we can accept the horse registration.

MY HORSE IS REGISTERED

If the horse has previously been registered with you as the owner you will need to log into your BE account, select My Horses, and here you will find all the information in order to purchase Season Tickets/PAYG.

If they have been registered with a different owner, you will need to complete a change of ownership - see below for more information.

Before competing with British Eventing, you will need a season ticket for your horse – this can be purchased by the rider or the owner.

There are four graded categories of season ticket, depending on the number of BE points that the horse holds. Season tickets are available as a full season or a half season. The full season tickets  are valid for the calendar year in which they are purchased and half season tickets are valid from the 1st July.

Grade.    BE POINTS.  FULL SEASON.   1/2 SEASON.

    4                    0                 £74.00             £50.00
