Entries have closed for Frenchfield 2 Sat 9th Sept.

Whilst it is dissapointing to reduce this event to one day rather than 2, we have nevertheless filled and have also fully filled waitlists for all the classes. Later entering has become an issue for many horse trials but at Ballot Date we had only reached 220 entries, not even enough to make 1 day viable given rents and overheads. The BE105 class needed to be dropped for scheduling reasons. We do not wish to take late entry fees yet some 100+ Members were seemingly happy to pay to do this. Although we cannot afford the abandonment insurance being offered and we fear what the premiums will be in 2024, competitors are encourage to lobby BE to reinstate this benefit as soon as possible. We take this opportunity to remind Members the lead in time to secure contractors, volunteers, judges and officials is not 14 days but typically 100 days and we now pay British Eventing a deposit 6 months in advance and reserve dates around 12 months in advance. Our series of events are small and we need to be organised and all assistance is most appreciated. Thank you
