Who we are.

This website is owned by Douglas and Lucinda Weymouth, Directors of DJ Weymouth Limited (Company Registration Number 4455176) of Bampton Hall, Bampton, Penrith, Cumbria, CA10 2RQ.  UK.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it.

  1. Our website data collection using Wix:

We collect some limited basic personal data, including name, age, sex, email address, home address, personal account preferences and transactional data, such as purchase information specifically relating to either Membership of the site or Entry into equestrian classes or Social events e.g. experience or qualification data; and some technical data, such as information about cookies.  We do not collect any sensitive personal data, such as data concerning health, cultural background education or religious following .  All data is provided by the user for the purpose of enabling an efficient relationship with us so to provide details to make their communication and transactions simple, accurate and concise.  From time to time this may require us to make future contact with them regarding further equestrian and social events.  All data relating to purchases is retained for a maximum of 1 year and is provided for under the Terms & Conditions of sale.  By default Wix does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users.

Comments:  When visitors leave comments on our site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Media: No media uploaded files are accepted.

Contact forms:  Contact form submissions are kept for a maximum of 1 year for customer service purposes, and the information submitted through them is only used for in house marketing purposes.

Cookies:  If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for 1 year.  If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.  When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for 2 days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for 2 weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites:  Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics: At present and by default, Wix does not collect any analytics data on our behalf and there is no installed WordPress plugin that provides analytics services.

Who we share your data with.

We collect data only for use by one third party Wix Payments who is our payment processor (A copy of their Data Protection Policy may be found in their Terms of Use).  By default Wix does not share any personal data with anyone.

How long we retain your data.

We keep contact form entries for 1 year, completed orders and Wix Payment details for seven years.  Failed, pending or cancelled orders are retained for 1 month.  If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (Members), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data.

UK/European data protection law requires data about UK/European residents which is transferred outside the European Union to be safeguarded to the same standards as if the data was in Europe. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Our contact information

The company Data Protection Officer, is Mrs Lucinda Weymouth and she may be contacted by email on office@douglasweymouth.com regarding any queries about personal data retention and distribution for our website.  Lucinda will endeavour to respond within 72 hours.

How we protect your data.

We protect all users’ data. This includes technical measures such as encryption; security measures such as two-factor authentication; and measures such as staff training in data protection. Our Privacy Impact Assessment is currently under development as at Nov 2022.

What data breach procedures we have in place.

All data breaches, either potential or real, such as internal reporting systems, contact mechanisms, or bug bounties are handled by our web developers and a reporting and review process undertaken by the Directors of the company.

What third parties we receive data from.

We currently do not receive third party information from advertisers.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data.

We currently do not undertake automated decision making – for example, allowing customers to apply for credit, or aggregating their data into an advertising profile.

Industry regulatory disclosure requirements.

We do not believe we are subject to additional privacy laws.  We do however, undertake to operate within the Data Protection guidelines of British Eventing with whom we are currently affiliated to run Horse Trials.

2. Our website data collection using Wix Payments:

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store.

What we collect and store.

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed

  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping

  • Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!

We’ll also use cookies to keep track of basket contents while you’re browsing our site.

Our Cookie policy.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Send you information about your account and order

  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints

  • Process payments and prevent fraud

  • Set up your account for our store

  • Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes

  • Improve our store offerings

  • Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.

Who on our team has access.

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. At present (Nov 2022) this is limited to the 2 company director who can access:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and

  • Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.

Our team members have access to this information to help complete orders, process refunds and support you.

We share information with only 1 third parties Wix Payments who help us provide  store services to you; for example Payments. We accept payments through Wix. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Wix including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.   A copy of their Privacy Statement may be found here: 

What we share with others. 

Slider Revolution

Our website uses plugins from YouTube, which is operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

If you visit one of our pages featuring a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. Here the YouTube server is informed about which of our pages you have visited.

If you’re logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube allows you to associate your browsing behaviour directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

YouTube is used to help make our website appealing. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO.

Further information about handling user data, can be found in the data protection declaration of YouTube under https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

Google Web Fonts.  For uniform representation of fonts, this page uses web fonts provided by Google. When you open a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly.

For this purpose your browser has to establish a direct connection to Google servers. Google thus becomes aware that our web page was accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web fonts is done in the interest of a uniform and attractive presentation of our plugin. This constitutes a justified interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font is used by your computer.

SoundCloud.  On our pages, plugins of the SoundCloud social network (SoundCloud Limited, Berners House, 47-48 Berners Street, London W1T 3NF, UK) may be integrated. The SoundCloud plugins can be recognized by the SoundCloud logo on our site.

When you visit our site, a direct connection between your browser and the SoundCloud server is established via the plugin. This enables SoundCloud to receive information that you have visited our site from your IP address. If you click on the “Like” or “Share” buttons while you are logged into your SoundCloud account, you can link the content of our pages to your SoundCloud profile. This means that SoundCloud can associate visits to our pages with your user account. We would like to point out that, as the provider of these pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or how it will be used by SoundCloud.
